Social Principles: New changes indicate ever-evolving nature of declarations
The Social Principles trace their roots to a Social Creed introduced 100 years ago. Changes, however, including those by this year’s top policy-making body, have made the declarations a living, breathing statement of how to put faith into action.

Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Salina recently purchased a “gift ark” for Heifer International. An ark consists of 15 pairs of animals and husbandry training for the recipients of the animals.
Four principles to guide episcopal area discussions
Bishop Charles Crutchfield, Arkansas Area, unveiled the plan the South Central Jurisdiction’s College of Bishops will follow in reducing the number of episcopal areas. The college is responsible for determining how the South Central Jurisdiction will eliminate one bishop in 2012.
